The Fire and Rescue Department has two major work components: fire fighting and emergency medical response. A Firefighter/EMT works a 48-hour shift. Staff are divided into three battalions with a supervisor and twelve Firefighters/EMTs. A Firefighter/EMT is scheduled to cover all fire stations for immediate response need with a fire engine and ambulance.
